Pro Farmer’s Ahead of the Open 11/22/10
Corn: 1 to 2 cents higher; short-covering.
Wheat: 1 to 3 cents higher; corrective buying.
Soybeans: 5 to 8 cents higher; price strength overnight.
Meal: $1 to $2 higher; following soybeans.
Soyoil: 10 to 20 points higher; crude oil may limit buying.
Corn, soybean and wheat futures were firmer overnight, although the corn and wheat markets pared gains into the close.
Fresh news is relatively limited to start the holiday week. As a result, speculative money flow will be the key price driver today. Technically, bears have momentum after last week’s chart damage, but long-term fundamentals favor bears. More choppy and highly volatile price action is likely this week.
USDA announced a 120,000 MT wheat sale to Egypt. However, this purchase was already known late last week.
Outside markets are turning price-negative after being supportive for
much of the overnight session. The dollar is now solidly higher, while
