Wheat Market Recap Report for 11/23/2010
December Wheat finished down 3 1/2 at 642, 10 1/4 off the high and 7 1/2 up from the low. March Wheat closed down 3 3/4 at 680 3/4. This was 7 1/2 up from the low and 10 1/4 off the high. March wheat posted modest losses on the day despite substantial gains on the day by both corn and soybeans. Traders said that wheat lost ground on selling by spreaders versus corn, pressure from a sharply higher dollar and improved moisture levels in parts of the Midwestern soft red winter wheat belt. However, wheat prices rose in Europe on a lower Euro as the European debt crisis there continues. Argentina’s Agriculture Ministry raised its estimate of the country’s 2010/11 wheat crop to 12.5 million tonnes today from a previous estimate of 12.0 million. Tunisia is tendering to buy 25,000 tonnes of soft milling wheat according to traders. The bidding deadline is tomorrow and shipment is for January or February. March Oats closed down 3 3/4 at 360. This was 4 1/2 up from the low and 7 off the high.
