Wheat Market Recap Report for 11/30/2010
Related Keywords: Agriculture Email Print | December Wheat finished up 1/4 at 650 1/2, 6 1/2 off the high and 5 1/2 up from the low. March Wheat closed up 1/4 at 690 3/4. This was 5 1/4 up from the low and 7 1/4 off the high. March wheat saw 2-sided, mostly higher trade overnight and again into the day session before finishing the session with a fractional gain. However, wheat posted a substantial gain versus corn on the day as that market traded lower throughout the day session and then posted a new low prior to the close. Traders said that a higher dollar kept a lid on wheat today while support came mostly from continued dryness in the US hard red winter wheat belt. This helped KC wheat to post a modest gain versus Chicago today. Basis levels for wheat at the Gulf were steady this morning. Egypt announced that its is in the market for 55,000 to 60,000 tonnes of hard wheat and 55,000 to 60,000 tonnes of soft and/or milling wheat from optional origins. The wheat is for shipment in February 1-15. March Oats closed up 1/2 at 350. This was 7 1/4 up from the low and 2 off the high.
