Related Keywords: Agriculture Email Print | December Wheat finished down 9 1/4 at 726 3/4, 17 1/2 off the high and 3 3/4 up from the low. December wheat sold off to new lows for the week today before closing at its lowest level since September 8th. Traders said that a firm dollar limited a rally overnight and into the start of the day session with the market then selling off from near the open of the day session into late morning. Support was credited to continued dryness in parts of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan as well as a US wheat sale to Egypt. Egypt bought 295,000 tonnes of wheat which included 180,000 tonnes from France, 60,000 tonnes from Canada and 55,000 tonnes of soft white wheat from the US. In addition, Tunisia is tendering for 67,000 tonnes of wheat. UK customs data showed that their wheat exports were up 52% in July versus last year to 251,733 tonnes. Ukraine’s minister of agriculture estimated that country’s total grain harvest for 2010 at 38 million tonnes, down from 40-41 million last month. Poor soil moisture is still considered a problem in eastern Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan. The USDA will issue its latest Export Sales report tomorrow morning. Last week’s US export sales were the largest in 3 years at a combined total of over 1.6 million tonnes. December Oats closed down 4 1/2 at 340. This was 10 1/2 up from the low and 8 3/4 off the high.Bron:CME
